"(It) is a result of cumulative data gathered over several years that includes increased district-wide costs of maintaining aging buildings, declining enrollment and complying with state recommended building sizes," said Schindewolf in an email outlining the background for Franklin's closure. The closing of Franklin is one of the first decisions to be made in the district's re-envisioning process which began a little over a year ago in November of 2017, when Schindewolf announced a strategic plan to be developed for the district impacting Triway’s future through the next century.
